Born in Cheyenne Wyoming Doug Gallagher moved to the east coast when he was 8 years old. His family moved to the Philadelphia area and settled into a town called Media, PA. He and his family lived in this area for about 5 years until the company that his parents worked for moved to Dover, DE. Arriving in Delaware late in his 7th grade year Doug quickly settled in.
Doug met his wife while working at a local restaurant after school, while in his senior year. After graduation in the spring of 2001 he quickly gained a job working with a local company specializing in brick paver and segmental retaining wall installations. Doug worked his way from laborer to crew leader while learning the ins and outs of the business.
In 2005 at the age of 23 Doug Married his wife and established a company of his own named, Lasting Impressions Hardscape and Design. He ran this business successfully for 3 years and in 2008 when the economy turned he returned to a position as a foreman once more. Doug put his inner entrepreneur on hold in the interest of his family and worked for a local company first as a Hardscaping Foreman and was then promoted to Production Manager in time.
Doug Enjoyed working with this company but new that he needed to return to working on business ideas of his own, so in 2014 Doug enrolled in real estate school. He took the classes in the evenings three nights a week. Once he graduated and became licensed he dove in head first. Transitioning to a career in real estate as a full-time agent meant that he had his work cut out, but that didn’t bother him. He set out and quickly learned the market as well as the techniques that would provide for him in the future.
Working in his career as a realtor has been the highlight of his professional career. Doug enjoys the satisfaction of helping families find a home and secure their piece of the American dream. He leans on his blue collar past, providing him the work ethic to be a self-starter and the experience to remain humble in dealing with clients. He is working diligently to build his brand “On the Move Realty” and anticipates gaining his broker’s license in a few years time. Doug is without a doubt one of the hardest working Realtors in Kent County, Delaware and he looks forward to serving your real estate needs.
